Smooth solar installation process

I went with Palmetto for a full Solar Energy System setup, and it was a surprisingly smooth process overall. The initial consultation and design phase for our panels was thorough, they answered all my questions about the Roof Assessment and Clean Energy Financing. Installation took about two days, which was faster than I expected. The crew was respectful of our property. The Solar Monitoring App works great for tracking production. My only minor complaint was a slight delay in getting the final interconnection paperwork approved, but Palmetto handled most of that. It's working as promised now.

Panels installed, few bumps

I recently had Palmetto install Solar Panels for my home. The sales team was helpful with the initial setup and explaining the federal solar tax credit. The actual installation of the panels went okay, the crew was pretty efficient. However, getting the EV Charger Installation done at the same time caused a bit of a headache with scheduling, took longer than I thought it would. Customer service was responsive when I called about the delay. The system is up and running now, and I'm seeing the savings, which is the main thing. Just wish the communication between the different installation teams was a bit tighter.

quick question for anyone who's used Palmetto, how long did the whole installation process take from start to finish for you? from signing to having power?

A Abigail Scott 2 weeks ago
Mine was pretty quick actually, like maybe 6-8 weeks total. They handle all the permits and stuff which was a relief.

It can vary a bit based on your local utility and city permits. For me, it was closer to 3 months because of some permit delays. Palmetto kept me updated though.

Heard about a federal tax credit for solar. Does Palmetto help you with that or do you have to figure it out yourself? And can you combine it with other Palmetto deals?

M Mark Hernandez 3 weeks ago
Oh yeah, they totally factor that in. They explained how it works and what percentage I'd get back when I signed up. It's a huge saving.

They'll definitely give you the info, but ultimately it's a tax thing, so you or your accountant would claim it. And from what I remember, you can usually stack it with other incentives like state rebates or their referral bonus.

What kind of warranty does Palmetto offer on their solar panels? Worried about them breaking down after a few years.

A Aaron Hernandez 1 day ago
They have a pretty solid warranty for the panels themselves and the installation. I remember it being like 25 years for the panels' performance.

I think it's 25 years for the panels and also a separate warranty on the workmanship for the install. Palmetto Protect covers a lot of maintenance too, if you sign up for that.

Is Palmetto any good compared to Sunrun? Or should I just go with Sunrun? Seems like a toss-up.

S Susan T. 1 week ago
I looked at both and went with Palmetto. Their customer service felt more personal, and the quote I got was better for the same size system.

Both are big players. I think Palmetto focuses a bit more on the tech side and monitoring tools. Sunrun sometimes has more leasing options, but Palmetto has good financing too. Get quotes from both!

Hey guys, thinking about getting solar from Palmetto. Does anyone know if they do any kind of zero down financing options? Trying to avoid a big upfront cost.

J Julia G. 1 week ago
Yeah, they totally do! I just got mine installed last month and went with the $0 down option. Made it super easy to get started.

I think they have a few different financing partners for that. It's not like a direct Palmetto loan, but they help you find one that works. Definitely ask about it when you get a quote.
